Will the sensor work if installed on the bottom of the mailbox top plate instead of the drop-down door?
No, the alarm must be installed on themovable mailbox doorto work properly. The system uses tilt switches and infrared sensors to detect movement, which requires the sensor to be positioned on the door.
Does the sensor need to be installed on the mailbox door to detect movement? Will it work if installed on the back wall of the mailbox?
Yes, the sensor must be installed on the inside flap of the mailbox door for proper operation. Please follow the instructions for correct installation.
Will the magnet on my mailbox lid interfere with the sensor?
Unlikely. The system works well even if there’s a magnet on the mailbox lid, as long as the sensor is positioned correctly.
Is the detection function triggered by the swing of the mailbox door?
Yes, the alarm is triggered whenever the mailbox door is opened, notifying you immediately.
Does it alert you when the mailbox door is closed?
The system will alert you whenever the mailbox door is opened and closed. It will continue to alert with the indicator light until you press the reset button on the receiver. The system resets after each alert.
How far can the system’s signal reach? Can it be mounted inside the mailbox?
The transmitter works up to 600 feet away. It can be installed on the outside of the mailbox, and the system will function properly. For best performance, avoid mounting it inside the mailbox.
